The library will be having a book fair beginning this Friday October 25th during the carnival and running through next week. Mrs. Hood-Sisson needs a few volunteers to set up for the fair on Friday morning. She also requested help for Friday evening during the Halloween carnival. She needs a few helpers to cover short shifts.
Last Monday students were able to play mathletics on the library computers. Everyone was able to successfully log into their account. Ms. Jones attached the username and password to the homework folder. If your child has access to a computer at home, the mathletics.com website is a engaging place for them to practice a variety of math concepts. We were able to play many math games & review this week and we also finished up Unit 3 and took our progress check.
Students know Robert Munsch is one of my favorite authors. We enjoyed reading many of his books and discussed his purpose for writing stories. Everyone agreed that his main purpose is to entertain and make us laugh! We also learned about the use of an onomatopoeia, which Munsch uses throughout his books to imitate natural sounds.
Thank you to those who have signed up for Parent-Teacher conferences. They will be held on Monday October 28th and Tuesday the 29th. If you haven't signed up yet, please contact me ASAP to schedule a time that is convenient for you. I will send home conference reminders Friday with homework folders.
