April 27th- FIF is in with Fables Fun preparation-costume designers, prop makers volunteers needed!
May 4th- SAVE THE DATE Fables Performance @ 1:15
Next week April 27th we need a few helpers to help us prepare for our fables plays. We also are looking for large, appliance type boxes or large pieces of cardboard for constructing props. Please send in if you have any, and let us know if you can supervise painting or constructing tasks. Students might also ask about various items to be used for costumes.
Word Wall Words For the last few weeks of school, our focus is to review and practice with the goal of independently and accurately spelling all of the high frequency words. Although, many students have done well on the word wall word checks, a surprising number continue to misspell the same words in their writing pieces. This tells us that mastery has not been reached. Thank you for your continued diligence with checking your child’s spelling on home writing tasks. Also, please hold your child to high standards of penmanship, and the use of punctuation and capital letters. We appreciate the team effort, as will their 3rd grade teachers!
Mrs. Graham introduced us to a tableau or "living picture" where groups of students communicate using poses, facial expression, or positioning. Student groups took great delight sharing their Fable tableau while the remainder of the class recorded their guess on a whiteboards. Thank you to Mrs. Graham for sharing this new learning with us. Mrs. Moore returns to Room 167 on Monday and will be with us until her graduation from UAF on May 5th. We look forward to learning with her again.
