On Friday we are scheduled to go to the Alaska Room at Ann Wein Elementary from 11:50-2:20. We need at least two volunteers to joins us. If you are available please let us know!
Laura Numeroff is our new author and students have delighted in the repetition and alliterations in her books. We dabbled in our own graphic novel style writing using her cause and effect style. Students are also learning about the genre of biography as we read a chapter book Helen Keller, Girl of Courage.
Graphing hast been our math focus and we have been busy collecting data using tally marks and pictures. Last week, students surveyed each other on whether their families recycle or not. We also had a visit from Mrs. Gryga for a technology lesson. The class answered math facts and used QR codes to check the answers! We will finish up our study on graphing and data collection this week and take Topic 14 assessment on Monday the 4th. Look for a review sheet in the homework on Friday.
Do you visit coffee shops often? If so, you can help our class as we reuse the disposable cups as pots for planting our flowers! Please send in the small (8 or 12 oz) cups and lids with your student from April 27th-May 6th.
