Making a colorful sunset and landscape with watercolors and torn paper had us all so busy on Friday that we were painting right up to the bell! It was a "sunsational" way spend a Friday afternoon and it was nice to see how the students stayed after the bell rang to clean up our classroom. Before our art lesson we read The Legend of the Indian Paintbrush by our featured author Tomie Depaola. We discuss that a legend is a story that has been retold over time but cannot be proven true. Next Friday we will need a few volunteers for our trip to Gymnastics Inc. Our bus will leave the school in the morning at 10:15. Please let me know if you can join us! This week students enjoyed writing and sharing their "how to" stories. For homework please remind your child to chose a different topic to write about than the "how to" they worked on and shared in class this week. Topic 9 math test will be on Friday. We have practice two-digit addition and are now checking our work with addition. Please review these concepts with your child to make sure they have a solid understanding of how to do both. March 8th will be Exhibit Night for this quarter and the end of the third quarter will be the 11th with an early out at 1:15. Students will be out of school March 14th-18th for Spring Break. | Student Spotlight |
