In language arts, students learned more about poetry. As a class, students shared that poetry can rhyme, but doesn't have to, it can be about anything (sports, animals, food, family, etc.), and it expresses a lot of feeling. We are learning that it has line breaks, a title, an ending line and great word choice! Students explored different poems written by first graders and other well known authors . Each student chose a poem they would like to recite for our Valentines and Verses celebrations. Students brought their poems home on Friday. Please help them practice at home as we continue to practice at school!
All parents/guardians received an email about the principal selection committee. Please take a moment to vote for a representative. Thank you to those who offered to serve on the committee!
The Advanced Symphony will host a Love-O-Gram Fundraiser! On Tuesday February 14th the symphony will visit classes to deliver a Valentine's Day Song. For only $1, your valentine will get to hear the sweet sounds of love and affection, and a hand deliver note to the one you care about! Valentines will be sold after school Jan 30 - Feb 10 from 2:45 - 3:15PM. See Mrs. Brazier or a symphony student for questions.
