Please help Nurse Dave support "Pennies for Patients" for our third year in a row. Each class has a collection box to help us raise money for children with leukemia and lymphoma. Your child brought home their own mini collection box and can bring it back to school and empty it into our classroom container when they have finished gathering those loose coins. It's a great counting activity for students to add up their total before they bring it back!
IMPORTANT! Next Friday we will be going to Ice Alaska. We need at least 4-5 chaperones to make this a safe and enjoyable event for all. The bus will be leaving the school at 12:30 and returning at 2:15. Please let me know if you will be able to join us for this icy adventure.
This week in math students practiced using the hundred chart, regrouping with counting cubes, and using mental math to add 10's to two digit numbers. We included the Topic 10 reteaching work mat in the homework to help students practice over the weekend for our up coming assessment next Tuesday. Does your child need more math practice? Our school pays for each students to have a membership to mathletics.com and it's nice way for everyone to practice math in a variety of ways. Let me know if you have any trouble logging in at home. Usernames must be entered exactly with the – (dash), and are also case sensitive. These are taped on the inside front cover of your child's homework folder.
SAVE THE DATE!!! The student council will be hosting a family dance March 6th. There will be a DJ, and refreshments in the gym. The price is $1 per person or $5 for the family. All students must be accompanied by an adult. It is always a well attended event!
