Thank you to everyone who offered to join our group on Friday as we headed to the Alaska Room. Mr. Sanders, Mrs. Timchak, Mrs. Cathers, and Mrs. Samson offered a helping hand while students created crafts representative of the Athabaskan and Tlingit cultures.
Since we were busy creating art we were only able to have math three days this week, working on place value of tens and ones. Tomorrow students will review concepts practice for Topic 8 and on Tuesday we will take our test. The reteaching sheet and other returned math pages will be included in their Monday folder so you can review with your child the concept of place value.
Classmates have been trying out new station rotations during both math and language arts with great success! We are gearing up for Second Grade and students are rising to the occasion with more independence! Way to go class!!!
If your child would like to try out for the Talent Show, permission slips should be turned into the office by April 1st. Performances may include singing, dancing, instrumental performances, drama, comedy, magic, or skits deemed appropriate for the family atmosphere of Barnette Magnet School. Auditions for 1st graders will be held Friday April 5th at 11:00. If you have any questions please contact Mrs. Braizer at [email protected].
