In Language Arts we have been gobbling up books by our featured author Laura Numeroff. We talked about how she uses alliteration in many of the titles and that she had to revise and rewrite her books several times before they were excepted by a publisher. Just like we will revise before we publish! We also enjoyed looking for alliteration in the tumblebook What Have You Read Lately? As you have seen in homework, we have begun Unit 2 math practicing addition number stories, double facts, turn around facts, and other addition strategies. Unit 1 was completely review from first grade, and your student’s progress check on the content was sent home last week. Unit 1 pages from the math journal will come home on Monday. Please look them over. If there are any corrections to be made or incomplete pages, I would appreciate it if you would help your child finish. Please let me know if you have any questions.
This Friday we will be going to Calypso Farms and many volunteers are needed so we can place students into small groups. Please contact me, if you would like to go with us! Looks like students will need to have all winter gear since we will be outside during this FIF. New to the school district this year is a volunteer packet. Pick one up at the office, or I have a few in the classroom.
